Around 15 illegal structures in different areas of Mohali district were razed by the regulatory wing of the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) here today.
Giving details, Rohit Gupta, Estate Officer (Regulatory), GMADA, said these illegal structures were raised in violation of the Punjab New Capital Periphery Control Act, 1952, in the periphery control area.
In the action taken against the violators, a farm house at Shingariwal village, a farm house, one commercial shop and two under construction houses in Parrch village and shed of a tile factory in Rampur Sainian village were demolished, Gupta said.
Besides, 10 structures constructed upto plinth level were also razed, Gupta said while adding that boundary walls of three plots at Bhankahrpur village were also pulled down.
The team executed the drive with the help of the police force and JCB machines. Drives of similar nature would be carried in near future to curb the practice of unauthorised constructions, Gupta said.
