Chandigarh, January 15
The Chandigarh Chapter of Indian Radiology and Imaging Association (IRIA) in collaboration with the PGI will organise its 72nd annual conference at the institute from January 17 to 20. Experts from across the country will take part in the conference.
Addressing a press conference, Prof MS Sandhu, Head, Department of Radiodiagnosis, said this conference was being held in Chandigarh after a gap of 20 years.
Prof Paramjeet Singh, organising chairman, and Prof Akshay K Saxena, organising secretary of the conference, said this four-day event would be attended by approximately 2,500 delegates from all over the country as well as abroad. This includes national and international stalwarts in radiology.
There will be more than 30 international speakers from all over the globe. The highlights of this mega event will be the IRIA awards and orations of excellence. Some of the prestigious awards and orations include Dr Ashok Mukherjee Award, Dr NG Gadekar Memorial Oration, and Sir JC Bose Memorial Oration, which have been named after doctors who achieved excellence in their career.
These will be awarded to young scientists and established experts working in various sub-specialties of radiology. Research work in the form of oral and electronic presentations will also be presented by young radiologists from throughout the country. — TNS
