Reaffirming its commitment to promoting a clean environment and improving sanitation standards in the city, the MC organised a community-led mega cleanliness drive at Apni Mandi, Sector 34, here as part of the ‘Swachhata hi Seva’ campaign. This initiative coincided with the celebrations for 155th Gandhi Jayanti, during which mass cleanliness drives were conducted at 155 locations between September 17 and September 30.

Approximately 500 volunteers participated in the cleanliness drive at Apni Mandi. Approximately 2,900 kg of waste was collected, including dry and wet waste, construction and demolition waste and coconut waste, all of which was sent to dedicated processing plants.

A plantation drive was also held in which 250 saplings were planted.
