The UT Administration today received two more applications for registration of PG accommodations.
Following the death of three girl students in a fire incident at an illegal PG accommodation in Sector 32 on February 22, the Administration had launched a massive inspection drive against illegal PGs running in the city.
Deputy Commissioner Mandip Singh Brar had recently directed the Estate Office to set up a special desk for speedy registration of PG accommodations on a condition that they fulfil the required norms.
Till yesterday, the Estate Office had received 33 applications for registration. A total of 35 applications have been received so far.
Meanwhile, the Estate Office received three complaints against illegal PG accommodations on its helpline number 1860-1802067 today. The complaints were received from the South subdivision. — TNS
