MOHALI: Two youths, who arrived at the Chandigarh international airport from Dubai, were allegedly kidnapped when they were going to Dera Bassi in an auto rickshaw today.

Two youths, who arrived at the Chandigarh international airport from Dubai, were allegedly kidnapped when they were going to Dera Bassi in an auto rickshaw today.

In his complaint to the police, Rinku, an auto driver and resident of Ram Darbar, stated that two youths had boarded his auto from the international airport on Wednesday afternoon. He said the youths told him that they had arrived from Dubai and wanted to go to Dera Bassi.

He said when they reached Safipur village, a Zen car bearing a registration number of Haryana and having three occupants intercepted his auto. The accused forcibly pushed the two youths and their luggage into their car and sped away.

The identity of the kidnapped youths was not known yet, the police said. 

A case against the unidentified persons has been registered under Sections 341 and 365 of the IPC at the Sohana police station. An investigation into the case was on, the police said.
