2 youths injured after car falls into gorge on Morni–Tikkar Tal road
Injured were taken to Morni Primary Health Centre for treatment and later discharged; this is the second such accident in the area within a fortnight
Two youths working with an IT firm in Mohali were seriously injured after their car plunged into a gorge on the Morni–Tikkar Tal road near Kharog village on Saturday.
One of the victims, Tarun Kumar, a resident of Yamunanagar, along with his friend, was returning from a trip to Morni when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to fall into a deep gorge.
Locals rushed to the spot and pulled the injured out of the ditch.
Investigating officer Rajendra Singh from the Morni police station, along with a PCR team, reached the scene and assisted in the rescue. The injured were taken to the Morni Primary Health Centre, where they were given treatment and later discharged.
Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
This is the second such accident in the area within a fortnight. On March 29, a bus carrying 50 school students from Haryana on a trip to Morni Hills crashed into a sidewall on the Morni–Thapli road due to brake failure, leaving 20 children injured. The students were administered first aid at a hospital in Panchkula and later discharged.
