20 flights cancelled, 2 diverted at Chandigarh airport due to bad weather, operational issues

Twenty flights were cancelled, and two others were diverted at the Chandigarh airport on Friday due to bad weather and operational issues.

As strong winds and rain lashed the Tricity from Thursday night, nine arrivals and 11 departures were cancelled. A Hyderabad–Chandigarh flight scheduled to arrive at 12.05 pm was diverted to Delhi, while the Srinagar flight (6E262), due at 12.55 pm, was cancelled because of bad weather. No flights from Srinagar landed in Chandigarh during the day.
Similarly, a Chennai–Chandigarh flight (6E6005) scheduled for 2 pm was diverted to Jaipur. An international flight from Abu Dhabi arrived with a slight delay, while the departure to Dubai was delayed by nearly an hour and took off at 5.31 pm.
Among arrivals, nine flights — Srinagar (6E262), Jaipur (6E7717), Delhi (6E2196 and 6E759), Mumbai (6E6752), Bengaluru (6E851 and 6E6385), Srinagar (6E6041), and Jaipur (6E7414) — were cancelled due to various reasons.
Departures also remained erratic, with 11 flights cancelled over the course of the day. These included flights to Ahmedabad (6E112 and 6E395), Delhi (6E62195 and 6E760), Mumbai (6E6751 and 6E5019), Srinagar (6E6352 and 6E874), Jaipur (6E7517), Hyderabad (6E6254), and Bengaluru (6E593).
