Panjab University has allotted hostel rooms to around 20 PhD students on the condition of single occupancy on the first day of hostel allotment today. Also, the exit semester students of Nuclear Medicine, Medical Physics, MDS and MPharma are allowed to stay in hostels, said Dr Sukhbir Kaur, Dean, Student Welfare (Women).

She said the students had been allotted hostels as per the location of their departments. “Students having their departments on the Sector 14 campus have been allotted hostels on the same campus (Sector 14) while those of the Sector 25 campus have been allotted hostels in the south campus. At present, the mess of Girls Hostel No. 4 is working which will cater to the Sector 14 campus girls’ hostels. The mess of Boys Hostel No. 6 is catering to all boys’ hostels on the PU campus. All SOPs related to Covid will be strictly followed,” said Sukhbir.
