The participants in different events include Karamjit Singh, Harjinder Singh, Banita Sharma, Rajwant Kaur, Maninder Kaur, Manpreet Singh, Akashdeep Singh, Avtar Singh, Rajwinder Kaur, Randeep Kaur, Maninder Singh, Navneet Kaur, Harpreet Singh, Harpreet Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Ranjit Singh, Gurinder Singh, Khushbir Kaur and Anjum Moudgill. Chess meet on August 19

Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Chess Association will conduct the Chandigarh Women Chess Championship at St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, here, on August 19. The top four players in the competition will be selected to represent the city at the National Women Senior Chess Championship to be held in Jaipur from August 18, the sports body said here on Thursday. The last date for registration is August 18. TNS

St Soldier boys beat Gurukul

Chandigarh: St Soldier School, Sector 28, beat The Gurukul, Zirakpur, by 17 runs in the Sub-Junior Super League-cum-Knockout Tournament here on Thursday. Batting first, St Soldier scored 118/6 in 20. In reply, Gurukul boys could only manage 101/7. TNS
