22-year-old girl’s body found in sack

PATIALA:The police found unidentified body of a 22-year-old girl, who was murdered, in the gunny bag alongside a field in Ghalori village, near Sanour, on Tuesday.

The police found unidentified body of a 22-year-old girl, who was murdered, in the gunny bag alongside a field in Ghalori village, near Sanour, on Tuesday. A farmer from the Ghalori village had informed the police that a body was dumped in a field. Soon after receiving the information, the Patiala Police led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (Rural), Gurdev Singh Dhaliwal, reached the spot and took the body into their custody. The police said they started an investigation immediately in this connection.

“The body has been sent for the post-mortem examination. The body has not been identified till now,” the police added. 

“We are investigating the matter and have informed other police stations in the district about the dead body,” said Jaswinder Sigh Tiwana, Station House Officer, Sadar. The girl was dressed in a Punjabi outfit, he added.

According to police, the girl was strangled to death and had multiple injuries on her face. The sources further informed that the girl was thrown from the Sangrur bypass flyover in a gunny bag, which had a stamp of Bihar Food Corporation. The police have booked several unidentified persons under Sections 302 and 201, IPC.
