237 violate curfew, rounded up in Chandigarh


Chandigarh: A total of 237 persons were on Friday rounded up by the Chandigarh Police for violating the curfew orders. The police said 61 vehicles were detained and 95 impounded in different parts of the city. Autos plying illegally in the city were also impounded by the police. Sub-Inspector Sarwan Singh said some auto drivers were found ferrying passengers despite the curfew and their autos were being impounded. Three autos were impounded by the police on Friday. The police also registered a case under Section 188 of the IPC at the Mani Majra police station. Meanwhile, since March 23, 7,708 persons have been rounded up, 4,411 vehicles detained and 1,183 impounded. A total of 113 persons have been booked under Section 188 of the IPC till April 3. TNS
