27 citizens pledge organs

CHANDIGARH: The Regional Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (ROTTO) and Blood Bank of PGIMER organised a blood donation camp at Sector 44 gurdwara today.



Chandigarh, July 11

The Regional Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (ROTTO) and Blood Bank of PGIMER organised a blood donation camp at Sector 44 gurdwara today. Thirty-one people donated blood and 27 people registered for donating their organs.

The camp was inaugurated by Harjinder Kaur, former Mayor, Chandigarh. Prof Ashok Kumar, acting nodal officer, ROTTO, PGIMER said, “Organ donation in India is still at an infancy stage. Therefore, we try to tap every possible opportunity to promote the cause.” — TNS
