3 absconding accused land in police net

The Mohali police’s PO Staff wing has arrested two long-absconding accused, namely Vikramjit Singh, alias Vicky, son of Gurdeep Singh, and Lovepreet Singh, son of Nachhatar Singh, both residents of Pattaran village, Sohana Police Station. Both the accused had been absconding in connection with FIR No. 131 dated December 18, 2021, registered under Sections 354, 355, 294, 506, 509, 323, 34 of the IPC at the Phase 11 Police Station, Mohali, pertaining to an incident involving fighting and molestation of women at Bestech Mall. The arrests were effected on December 24, after sustained efforts. The accused were produced before the court and subsequently sent to judicial custody.

In another case, the PO Staff arrested Jaswinder Singh Virk, son of Manmohan Singh, resident of Agrasen Society, Sector 76, Mohali, who had been absconding for a prolonged period in a case registered under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act (Case No. 234/2019). The accused had failed to pay the remaining amount of Rs 5 lakh in a cheque bounce case involving a transaction of Rs 14 lakh. He was also apprehended on December 24, produced before the court, and sent to jail.

SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans stated that the drive to trace and arrest proclaimed offenders would continue with full force.
