The accused first took advantage of their relationship and won the trust of the victim. They assured him that his son would be sent to the US legally. They took the entire amount in cash to avoid bank transactions. The victim sold his land and paid the accused around Rs 35 lakh in instalments. In December 2023, the accused claimed that the youth’s work visa had been issued and he was sent to Delhi airport, but later it came to light that the victim’s son was sent abroad illegally through a donkey route, where he was detained and later deported to India.

When the victim came to know the truth, he asked for his money back, but the accused kept on delaying.

The investigation to ascertain the involvement of other accused in the fraud is ongoing. The police produced the accused before the court and the Judge remanded them in judicial custody.
