Dr Baljit Kaur noted that 807 children have been rescued statewide and linked to rehabilitation.

The Jeevan Jyot campaign extends beyond rescues, guiding street children to schools and secure futures through health checks, counselling, education, and family support to prevent relapse.

Appealing to Punjabis, Dr Kaur called for cooperation in ending child begging. She advised withholding alms from begging children and dialling Child Helpline 1098 to connect them with education and dignity.
