370 cops deployed across Panchkula district for Holi festival
To further strengthen the security grid, 25 rider units, 19 ERVs and 11 PCR vehicles will remain on continuous patrol
The Panchkula police have made extensive arrangements to strengthen security and maintain law and order across the district for Holi festival.
Police Commissioner Shivas Kaviraj extended Holi greetings to residents and appealed to them to celebrate the festival while respecting the sentiments and sensitivities of others.
To maintain law and order, Panchkula DCP Srishti Gupta has ordered deployment of 370 police personnel across the district, who will remain under the direct supervision of ACP-level officers.
Thirty-five special checkpoints have been established across the city, of which 16 will conduct checks using alco-sensors.
To further strengthen the security grid, 25 rider units, 19 ERVs and 11 PCR vehicles will remain on continuous patrol. Real-time coordination is being maintained between all station house officers and patrolling teams through the control room to ensure any untoward situation is handled promptly.
DCP (Crime and Traffic) Manpreet Singh Sudan said special vigilance will also be maintained against those using modified silencers on Bullet motorcycles to create firecracker-like noise and spread panic.
The administration has asked public to immediately inform the nearest police post, police station or dial 112 if anyone is found creating nuisance under the influence of alcohol or attempting to disrupt public order.
