4-day ‘Ragini Utsav’ starts at Kalagram in Chandigarh

A mega “Ragini Utsav-2026”, hosted by the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Union Ministry of Culture, started with a colourful start at the Kalagram here today.

The four-day event was launched with the lighting of the traditional lamp to invoke the divine. Event in charge Rajesh Bakshi said that NZCC had invited as many as 12 Ragini troupes from Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to perform during the four-day musical extravaganza.

The evening turned musical with prominent Ragini singer Ravi Sampla (and party) taking the centrestage. He left the audience delirious with his hit Ragini numbers, including “Chalo uss des mein jahan sangeet ho...” and “sada rahi hai sada rahegi jhagde ki jarh -jar, joru aur zameen...”

Up next was another Ragini singer Master Ranbir Kheri Damkan (and party). Prominent Ragini singer Vikas Pahasouria (and party) was the singer of the evening. Ragini legends, who will perform tomorrow (March 13) include Satveer (Kaptan Bishniya) and party, Somvir and party, Om Prakash Bali Sharma and party.
