They all were wanted by the Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana police.

Addressing a press conference, PS Kushwah, Additional Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) said the action came after an input was received by the special cell that one of the accused involved in the murder of Inderpreet Singh Parry had visited the Paharganj area of Delhi recently.

Following this lead, three accused, Kunwarbir Singh, Kapil and Lovepreet Singh, were arrested from near Ring Road, Shanti Van, where they had arrived looking for the accommodation previously occupied by Kunwarbir, the police said.

Kushwah added that later Piyush Piplani and Ankush Solanki were also arrested from the Sarai Kale Khan bus stand.

“From the arrested individuals, four firearms and a large quantity of ammunition was seized. As per preliminary interrogations, the accused had been directed to team up in Delhi for executing an unknown target from amongst the many persons who have been victims of threat and extortion calls from the syndicate,” the police official said.

The accused were linked to Arzoo, Anmol Bishnoi and Harry boxer gang, which is involved in the extortion and contract killings in the northern states, especially Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh and Punjab.

Parry was shot dead on December 1 near Timber Market, Chandigarh, after he left a club in Sector 26. He was shot at point blank range by a man sitting in the passenger seat of his Kia Seltos. The shooter fled the scene in a Creta with his accomplices.

Soon after the murder, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took the responsibility of the attack in a Facebook post, claiming that Parry was killed to exact revenge on the Goldy Brar gang for killing their financier, Sippa, in Dubai.

Mahajan, a lab technician in SR Government College for girls, was shot dead on Batala Road, Amritsar.

Hours after the incident, gangster Hari Boxer of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took responsibility for the murder on a social media handle with the name Anmol Bishnoi. They claimed that Ashu Mahajan was an informer for the police and leaked information about the whereabouts of their accomplice, Nona Harike, and, therefore, he was taught a lesson.
