50 rounded up under Operation Prahar in Fatehgarh Sahib
Police teams conducted nakabandi and checking at several sensitive points in the district
As part of Operation Prahar-2, launched by the Punjab Police to curb gangsterism and drug trafficking, the police today conducted an extensive checking drive across the district and rounded up nearly 50 suspects involved in law-and-order violations and various criminal cases.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shubham Aggarwal and led by SP (Detective) Rakesh Yadav. Police teams conducted nakabandi and checking at several sensitive points in the district to keep a close watch on suspicious activities.
SSP Aggarwal said the operation would continue with full force until complete elimination of gangsters and drug networks from the district. He described Operation Prahaar-2 as a sustained, intelligence-based drive aimed at dismantling the logistical, financial and communication networks supporting organised crime. He appealed to residents to assist the police in the fight against organised crime. “Information related to gangsters or criminal activities can be shared confidentially on the anti-gangster helpline number 9394693946,” he added.
