500 students bag academic excellence awards at GCG 11
Justice Nidhi Gupta, an alumna, attends 68th annual prize distribution as chief guest
The Post Graduate Government College for Girls (PGGCG), Sector 11, Chandigarh, celebrated its 68th annual prize distribution function with academic fervour, honouring outstanding student achievements across disciplines, here today.
Nidhi Gupta, Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and an alumna of the college, was the chief guest.
Presenting the annual report, Prof Anita Kaushal, principal, highlighted the institution’s achievements at university, national and international levels.
Among the key milestones, the college has won the overall trophy at the Panjab University Zonal Youth & Heritage Festival for the 11th consecutive year.
It also earned a four-star rating for its institution innovation council from the Ministry of Education and was adjudged Best Institute (Senior Wing) for NCC activities.
The report also underscored the college’s initiatives in environmental conservation, sustainable development and the “Eat Right Campus” programme.
Around 500 trophies and prizes were distributed to meritorious students. The chief guest, recalling her days at the institution, commended the faculty and students for the college’s continued multidimensional growth.
Special memorial scholarships were also awarded, including the Mrs Pushpa Ojha Award for the all-round best students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
