As many as 773 graduates and postgraduates were awarded degrees during the annual convocation of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women here on Friday.
The event began with the Saraswati Vandana. Principal Neena Sharma presented the annual report, which listed the college’s activities in academics and sports during the 2025-26 session.
Haryana Governor Ashim Kumar Ghosh was the chief guest at the event. Justice Pritam Pal (retd) from the DAV College Managing Committee and Yogesh Kumar Rawal from Panjab University were also present.
The guests released the college’s research journal, New Horizons. Addressing the students, Ghosh said education opened doors to many opportunities and that learning continued throughout life. He spoke about the goal of India becoming a developed nation by 2047 and the role of women in national development. He announced a grant of Rs 10 lakh for the college library and student welfare.
Justice Pritam Pal spoke about the importance of thoughts, actions, and behavior in building character. He mentioned the work of Swami Dayanand Saraswati regarding women’s education and its impact on society.
The ceremony ended with the principal congratulating the students. She encouraged them to remain focused on their future goals and to maintain the values they learned at the institution as they begin their careers.
