Chandigarh, September 13
A 94-year-old cyclist was killed after being hit by an Activa scooter being driven by a girl in Sector 49.
According to the police, the complainant, Bharat Bhushan, reported that an Activa, being driven by Kanchan, a college student, hit the cyclist, Hukam Chand, a resident of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Society, Sector 50. The accident took place near the Verka Golden Society, Sector 49, on September 12.
The police said both the Activa rider and the cyclist were injured in the accident. Hukam Chand was admitted to the GMCH, Sector 32, where he later succumbed to his injuries. A case against the Activa rider has been registered at the Sector 49 police station. — TNS
