Chandigarh, October 26
Biometric details of a missing 5-year-old helped reunite her with her family three months after she seemingly disappeared, police said on Friday.
The child identified only as Khushi was found alone at Ambala Railway Station on July 25, and was eventually sent to Panckhula’s Bal Sadan.
The anti-human trafficking unit of Haryana Police, which was investigating her case, enlisted the help of Aadhaar office in Chandigarh’s Sector 17 to help them with their investigations. The team traced her address back to Patiala, and, upon sharing Khushi’s photo with Patiala Police, found there was a missing person’s report for her Anaj Mandi Police Station, a police spokesperson said.
Police contacted the child’s family and she’s now reunited with her family, the officer said.
