Dengue: 26 more stung in Panchkula

Fresh 26 cases of dengue have surfaced during the past 24 hours taking the number of positive cases to 297 in Panchkula district.

At present, 105 people are under treatment at the Civil Hospital, Sector 6, and 134 at private hospitals.

Civil Surgeon Mukta Kumar said they had stepped up sampling to identify patients in time. Today, 233 samples were taken, of which 104 were found positive. Of these, 26 people are residents of Panchkula and 57 from other districts. Twentyone people could not be traced.

Officials, MC pass the buck over fogging

Residents alleged that when they approached health officials for fogging, the latter said it was the responsibility of the MC to get fogging done if there was no case in their area. The MC officials, on the other hand, put the onus on the Health Department. — TNS
