Shaan Judial from Patiala has bagged the first (SC category) position in the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) MBBS-2019 entrance exam, the results of which were declared yesterday. Judial, who has topped the category with 99.85 percentile, wants to be a neurosurgeon.
His father is a manager at the Food Corporation of India (FCI) and mother a government teacher. Shaan Judial says he wants to become a neurosurgeon to help those with central and peripheral nervous system disorders.
“One of my cousins is autistic. I plan to become a neurosurgeon to help those who face challenges with repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication and other conditions,” he said.
According to his mentors, Shaan Judial took coaching classes for around six hours every day and ensured self-study for equal hours. He kept away from the social media.
His father Satish Kumar said: “Shaan scored 10 CGPA in Class X and has also cleared the KVPY scholarship-cum-admission exam for the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.”
Apart from Judial, there are other who did the city proud — Nandini at 457 AIIMS rank, Jashanpal Singh at 388, Sakshi Singla at 186, Jaskaran Singh at 653, harshit at 890 and Gazal Gupta at 341.
