Air India (AI) today announced the cancellation of its another Delhi-Chandigarh-Delhi flight for two days due to operational reasons.
In a statement released to the media, an Air India spokesperson, said Air India flight number AI-463/464 operating on Delhi-Chandigarh-Delhi sector had been cancelled for July 6 and July 9. He said the scheduled departure of the flight from Delhi was 11.15 am and the arrival at Chandigarh was 12.10 pm. The flight departure from Chandigarh was at 12.45 pm.
MR Jindal, Air India airport manager, cited operational constraints due to closure of the airspace over Pakistan for the cancellation of the flights.
Air India has already cancelled its morning flight till June 30. An official communication released by the Air India office at Chandigarh said flight number 443/444 departing from New Delhi at 5.30 am with a scheduled arrival at Chandigarh at 6.35 am had already been cancelled.
The Air India official said due to the closure of the airspace over Pakistan, aircraft A-320 Neo had been put into operation on some other flight sector from Delhi. However, the other flights being operated by Air India would fly as usual.
Due to the closure of the airspace, international flights have been taking extra time to reach overseas destinations, leading to an increase in the air fare.
