Anti-encroachment drive: 87 challans issued to violators in Chandigarh

Temporary encroachments also removed to restore public spaces

In its continued efforts to ensure orderly markets, smooth pedestrian movement, and compliance with the civic norms, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh (MCC) carried out an extensive anti-encroachment drive against illegal and unregistered vendors across various parts of the city today.

During the drive, the MC enforcement teams inspected public places, markets, and footpaths where vendors were found operating without valid registration or in violation of the prescribed rules. As a result of the action, a total of 87 challans were issued to defaulters. Temporary encroachments were also removed to restore public spaces for the convenience and safety of residents.

THE TRIBUNE is free, objective, and independent. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language, are the hallmarks of the paper.
