Anuj to face Daksh in tennis final

Top seed Anuj Pal defeated overpowered Satvik Singla 6-4 to reach in the final of the boys’ U-12 category, on the opening day of Roots Salute to Indian Army Open Championship, at Roots Tennis Academy in Zirakpur, on Sunday. In the second semifinal , Daksh Khokhar overpowered Divyam 6-1.

Meanwhile, earlier in the quarterfinals, Pal blanked Advit Tiwari 5-0, while Satvik Singla overpowered Mehraab Singh 5-1.  Divyam outplayed Parth Sharma 5-0, while Daksh Khokhar blanked Manan Mehtani 5-2.

Khokhar reached in the finals of the boys’ U-10 category by defeating Advit Tiwari 6-4.  Nisyam defeated Rudra Pratap 6-1 in the second semifinal. In the quarterfinals, Advit Tiwari overpowered Mohit 5-0, while Khokhar managed to beat Daksh Kapoor 5-1. Rudra Pratap defeated Guhan in a tough fight 6-5(2), while Nisyam beat Tanay Deol 5-1.

Second seed Kanvarpreet in semifinals 

In the quarterfinals of the boys’ U-14 category, second seed Kanvarpreet Singh defeated Dev Kumar 6-0. Anuj Pal defeated Kawar Singh 6-1, Rattan Kabir beat Manan Mehtani 6-2 and Bhramjot Singh registered a 6-2 win over Parth Sharma.

Sia sails into the final

Sia Mahajan logged a 6-1 win over Vanshika to sail into the final of the girls’ U-12 category. In the second semifinal, Sidhak Kaur beat Shriya 6-2.
