Audit General Punjab posted a convincing 5-1 win over Audit General Uttar Pradesh to win the Indian Audit and Accounts Department North Zone Hockey Championship, at the Sector 42 Sports Complex here today.

Deepak Rawat put the host in lead by striking during the third minute of the game. However, the goal was cancelled by Nabin Kujjar in the eighth minute. In the 15th minute, Gurmukh Singh converted the match’s penalty corner to help Punjab gain lead. Thereafter, the side didn’t look behind. Mukul Bhargava netted the team’s third goal in the 41st minute, while Rawat posted his second in the 43rd minute to make it 4-1.

In the last few minutes, Bhargava netted the team’s last goal to seal the title win with a 5-1 verdict. Navneet Gupta, Principal Accountant General, Haryana, awarded both first position holders.
