Badminton meet from June 28

Panchkula: The Sports Promotion Society will organise the first Tri-city Badminton Rs 5 Lakh Championship, under the aegis of Haryana Badminton Association, at Sector 3 Tau Devi Lal Stadium from June 28 to 30.



Panchkula: The Sports Promotion Society will organise the first Tri-city Badminton Rs 5 Lakh Championship, under the aegis of Haryana Badminton Association, at Sector 3 Tau Devi Lal Stadium from June 28 to 30. Shuttlers from the tri-city will be eligible to participate and the championship will be organised in the men’s and U-19 category. The interested players can confirm the entries with the secretaries of their respective district associations. The society will also organise the 14th Ashwani Gupta Memorial Panchkula District Badminton Championship from July 5 to 7 and a marathon on the theme of Swachh and Swasth Panchkula on July 21. A kabbadi and a volleyball tournament will be also organised at Barwala from August 9 to 11. TNS

Tennis camp from june 1

Chandigarh:  A 15-day long tennis coaching camp will be organised at Hotel Mountview, Sector 10, from June 1 to 15. The camp will be conducted under the supervision of professional coaches and basics will be taught to the participants. The camp will be open for beginners, amateurs and professionals of all age groups. The interested can register at the camp venue before June 1.TNS

Haryana lads register win 

Panchkula:  Haryana defeated Chennai by nine wickets in the ongoing All India Shaheed Bhagat Singh U-16 Trophy. Batting first, Chennai posted 101/6 in allotted 20 overs with the help of R Sanjay Sharma (36) and Shailender (19). Anubhav Kaushik (2/13), Vishal Moudgil (2/23), Vikram (2/12) and Abhinav (2/14) were the main wicket takers for the bowling side. In reply, Haryana scored 104/1 in 14.4 overs with the help of  Paras (46) and Jashan Beniwal (45).  In other matches, UAE defeated Tamil Nadu by 54 runs, while Delhi overpowered Hyderabad by 40 runs and Bihar defeated Hyderabad (B-team) by eight wickets.  TNS

Raunak, Gurjap  shine with bat 

Chandigarh:  In the ongoing 2nd Beat the Heat U-15 Cricket Tournament, Dashmesh Cricket Academy, Zirakpur, defeated TKB Academy, Kharar, by one wicket, here today. Batting first, TKB boys posted 113 runs before getting all out in 29 overs. Raunak (19) and Gurjap (19) were the two main run scorers for the side. Akash (3/17) was the pick of the bowlersm, while Aryan claimed 2/19. In reply, Dashmesh Academy boys scored 114/9 in allotted 20 overs with the help of Rudra (38). Inderjit (3/19) and Himanshu (3/28) claimed wickets for the bowling side.TNS

Tennis meet from June 1 

Panchkula: Ideal Tennis Academy will organise Tricity Monthly Junior (boys and girls) Tournament. The championship will be held at Manav Mangal School, Sector 11, from June 1 to 2. The interested players can register their names at the tournament venue before May 31. The championship will be conducted in the U-12 and U-14 age groups. TNS

Forest hill start golf membership    

Panchkula: The Forest Hill and Country Club has opened their golf club membership for amateurs and professionals, here today. The interested golfers of the tri-city can apply for the membership before June 30.  BS Sandhu, president of the club, said the club has decided to open a permanent membership and the course is spread in 36 golf ranges.
