Bakrid, the festival of sacrifice, was celebrated with religious fervour at various mosques across the Fatehgarh Sahib district today. A large number of devotees gathered at the historic Roza Sharif to offer special Eid prayers and pay obeisance at the shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Ahmad Farooqi Sirhindi Mujaddid Alf Sani.

Extending his greetings, the Khalifa of Roza Sharif, Syed Mohammad Sadiq Raza Mujaddi, said, “Bakrid holds special significance in Islam. Known as the festival of sacrifice, every financially capable Muslim is expected to offer a sacrifice on this sacred occasion.”

In his message, the Khalifa emphasised that people of all faiths were equal and urged everyone to live together in peace and harmony. Representatives from various political parties also joined the celebrations, sharing in the festive spirit with the Muslim community.
