The Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) on Tuesday unveiled a ‘Wall of Fame’ at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh PCA International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Mithun Manhas and PCA secretary Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer inaugurated the wall featuring photographs of 33 Punjab cricketers, who won laurels in the sport.
Hayer said the inspirational enterprise comprises group photographs pertaining to the title-winning moments in the one day as well as T20 World Cups.
The wall includes the photographs of Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Shubman Gill and Harmanpreet Kaur (women’s team captain) and many other former and current international cricketers.
Photographs of Punjab domestic teams, which won the Ranji Trophy in the 1992-93 season and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2022-23, also found a place on the Wall of Fame.
Manhas lauded the initiative as a proud moment in the sporting history. PCA joint secretary Siddhant Sharma added that the Wall of Fame would be a new identity of the stadium.
