Lohri celebrations began at the school with a speech highlighting the importance of the festival. Students of Class V came in traditional Punjabi attire and performed bhangra on the beats of dhol. A bonfire was lit and ‘chirva’, ‘til’, ‘gur’, ‘revari’ and ‘gachak’ were offered to ‘agni’. Popular songs in the praise of Dulha Bhatti were sung by the students. 

PML SD Public, Chandigarh

Lohri was celebrated at the school with enthusiasm. Students of ‘Petals’, the school’s Primary wing, came in traditional attire. They made cards and danced around bonfire. Later, ‘gachak’, ‘revari’, peanuts and popcorns were distributed among children. 

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh

The school celebrated Lohri with fervour. The rituals of lighting the bonfire, chanting ‘Dulha Bhatti’, distribution of ‘revaris’, popcorns, peanuts and ‘gachak’ were held. Senior Principal Vineeta Arora conveyed her best wishes to the students and staff. 

AKSIPS-41, Chandigarh

Lohri was celebrated at the school with great enthusiasm. A special assembly was conducted by students of Class VII. Students highlighted the importance of the festival through an enactment and sang the Lohri song, ‘Sunder Mundriye’. Executive Director Jasdeep Kalra lit the bonfire. Peanuts, ‘revaris’ and ‘gachak’ were distributed among the students. The programme concluded with a bhangra performance.  

SD Sr Sec School, Chandigarh

 Lohri was celebrated at the school with much fanfare. The function started with speeches in English and Punjabi highlighting the importance of festival. School manager Aadarsh Sharma and Principal Nisha Gupta with staff members and students lit the bonfire. Students and teachers sang songs and danced with enthusiasm. Later, sweets and groundnuts were distributed among the students. 

AKSIPS-45, Chandigarh

 The school organised various activities to mark Lohri. The history and tradition associated with the festival were accentuated through speeches and poems. A bonfire was lit and prayers were offered. The celebration ended with a bhangra and distribution of customary sweets among all.

Manav Rachna Int’l, Mohali

The school organised a special assembly to celebrate Lohri. A bonfire was lit as everybody sung the traditional Punjabi folk song “Dulha Bhatti wala”. Students performed dance and recited poems. Principal Taruna Vashisht later joined students and staff and wished them happy Lohri. 

Ashmah International,Mohali

The school celebrated Lohri with fervour. A bonfire was lit, followed by a colourful function. Students got an opportunity to showcase their talent in a unique manner. 

AKSIPS-125, Kharar

The school celebrated Lohri. Students dressed in traditional Punjabi attire performed bhangra and gidda around the bonfire. A play highlighting the story of Dulha Bhatti was enacted by the students. Principal Jagjit Sekhon motivated the students and staff to stay connected to their cultural roots.

DAV Police Public, Panchkula

The school organised winter special activities on its premises. As many as 25 students participated in yoga, aerobics, ‘dharma shiksha’ and also attended computer classes. During the sex-day camp, “Learning- with a difference” classes were conducted for Class VIII students. TNS
