The seventh annual reunion of ASSOBA (Association of Biophysics) was celebrated at Panjab University on Saturday.
The day began with a tea at the canteen of the old Bio-Medical Sciences (BMS) block. After this, the alumni members moved to the ICSSR of the PU. A session of introductions was held where the participants shared their experiences.
Sanjeev Koul said, “We are blessed to be a part of the community. ASSOBA reunions are happening in other parts of the country as well as abroad. We have been adding members every year.”
Shalini Malviya, who leads a software venture, said, “It is such a pleasure to connect with old friends, seniors and juniors.”
Organisers Rajiv Puri and Vikas Rana said they were celebrating their retired Prof PC Mangal's birthday too.
Anjali from Australia said, “I came here from Australia to be a part of this celebration. It is something that I cannot miss,” and added, “Who would have missed the chance to meet old friends?”
The meet ended with a musical evening and a cocktail dinner. Prof GS Gupta felicitated two alumni, Prof Balvinder and Dr Dhingra, by presenting them his books.
Dr AK Singh, Director General (life sciences) in DRDO, appreciated the efforts of the association. Alumni from not only India, but also from other countries such as the US, Canada and Australia reached the venue to be part of the celebration. — TNS
