Addressing the gathering, city BJP president Jatinder Pal Malhotra said the party would never accept politics of intimidating women. He added that such incidents carried out under political patronage were a direct assault on democracy, and the BJP would fight against them on the street and at every democratic platform.

Former city BJP president Sanjay Tandon said the issue was not limited to one family or one ward, but was a serious concern related to the safety of society and the rule of law. He warned that if accountability was not fixed in such cases, the agitation would be intensified.
