Boy apprehended for 14-yr-old cousin’s rape

The UT police apprehended a 15-year-old boy on the charge of raping his 14-year-old cousin, who is found to be seven-month pregnant. He was sent to the Juvenile Home in Sector 25 here today.

The parents of the victim and the suspect are labourers. The incident came to light when the girl’s schoolteacher noticed changes in her body and spoke to her. At first, the girl did not open up. On counseling, she stated that her cousin made sexual relations with her. The girl’s aunt (mother’s sister) had adopted her because she had four children, all boys.

A case has been registered under Sections 6 and 4 of the POCSO Act, 2012. — TNS
