CHANDIGARH: A 37-year-old BSF constable, who was on deputation with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Chandigarh, was killed in a road accident today.

A 37-year-old BSF constable, who was on deputation with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Chandigarh, was killed in a road accident today.

The victim, identified as Yatender Vashisht, was returning home to Sector 46 from the NCB office in Sector 25 when his car went out of control and rammed into the Sector 36/37/41/42 roundabout during the wee hours of today.

Sources said the victim, along with other NCB employees, had gone to Delhi on November 8 to get drug peddlers, arrested by them, lodged in jail. They started back for Chandigarh in the evening and reached the NCB office during the wee hours. All NCB employees picked their cars from the NCB office and left for their houses.

On the way back home, the victim’s car rammed into the road divider. He was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

The victim hailed from Delhi and is survived by his wife and two children. NCB officials said the victim was a hard-working person.
