Budget 2026: Jobs, tech and self-reliance in focus
Panel discussion in Chandigarh links Union Budget to everyday life
The BJP Chandigarh Intellectual Cell on Friday held a panel discussion on “Union Budget 2026: From Economic Policy to National Policy” to explain the Budget’s impact on the common citizen and link economic decisions with daily life. The event at Rajasthan Bhawan was part of the BJP’s nationwide outreach on the Union Budget.
Convenor Dr Monica B Sood said the budget focuses on job creation, self-reliance and inclusive growth, with technology and innovation as key drivers. Speakers highlighted strong emphasis on artificial intelligence, semiconductors and advanced skills, noting that future global competition will centre on data and technology. The budget proposes 15,000 advanced technology labs, promotes STEM education for girls and provides hostels in every district to widen access.
Infrastructure push through high-speed rail corridors and national waterways, support for MSMEs and start-ups, defence manufacturing, and affordable healthcare were also discussed as major employment and growth engines. The discussion concluded that Budget 2026 presents a long-term roadmap aligned with India’s global economic ambitions.
