Caregivers from seven nations visit GMSH-16

In a bid to foster global collaboration in healthcare education, the Department of Community Medicine and the School of Public Health at the PGIMER organised a nursing leadership and management programme.

As part of it, a study tour of Government Multi-Speciality Hospital (GMSH-16) was arranged on Thursday for 28 senior nursing practitioners from seven countries — Maldives, Tanzania, Niger, Tajikistan, Seychelles, Argentina, and Botswana.

The GMSH-16 was chosen as the ideal setting to showcase best practices in nursing care. The objective of the study tour was to demonstrate the implementation of key initiatives such as Kayakalp and Laqshya, with the hope that participants would replicate these practices in their respective countries.

The practitioners were taken on a comprehensive tour of various workstations within the GMSH-16, including Emergency, ICU, OT, private wards, labour room, maternity OT and OPDs. At each station, designated staff provided detailed insights into the hospital’s practices.

Following the tour, a discussion and feedback session took place.
