The Mohali District Petroleum Dealers Association has expressed concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation in the district, particularly the increasing incidents of crime at filling stations in the district.
On January 18, Rs 2 lakh was looted from an employee of M/S Petro Junction on the Kharar-Landran highway by three motorcycle-borne youths in broad daylight. One of the robbers threw chilli powder in the eyes of cashier Vinod Kumar, who was going to a bank to deposit money around 1:45 pm, and robbed him of Rs 2 lakh.
Passersby nabbed one of the robbers, Jaspinder Gir (25). The other suspects have been identified as Baljit Gir and Tarsem Puri of Patiala. Vinod was rushed to the Civil Hospital where he was discharged after treatment. — TNS
