Chandigarh Administration feted with green mobility award
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari presents the award in New Delhi
The Chandigarh Administration has won the Gold Award for “Best Union Territory for EV Overall” at the Motoring World Green Mobility Awards-2025 in Delhi on Tuesday, reflecting its sustained commitment to building a clean, efficient and future-ready urban mobility ecosystem.
The award was received by Chandigarh Renewable Energy and Science and Technology Promotion Society (CREST), the nodal agency for renewable energy and EV promotion, on behalf of the UT Administration. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari presented the award at a ceremony, which was attended by CREST CEO Navneet Srivastava and Project Director Sukhwinder Abrol.
The award, a national initiative launched by Motoring World magazine of the Delhi Press Group, in collaboration with TERI, New Delhi, was conceived to recognise meaningful and measurable progress across India’s sustainable mobility landscape. The platform celebrates excellence across the full spectrum of green mobility — policy formulation, infrastructure development, technological innovation, environmental impact, and implementation outcomes.
The assessment was carried out under the supervision of an eminent jury panel comprising distinguished experts in sustainability, electric mobility, urban planning and public policy.
