Chandigarh Admn tells parents not to send children to schools in afternoon shift

CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh Administration on Monday issued an advisory stating that due to heavy rains, parents are advised not to send their children in the schools in the afternoon shift.

The Chandigarh Administration on Monday issued an advisory stating that due to heavy rains, parents are advised not to send their children to schools in the afternoon shift.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Chandigarh, has said that the weather would start improving from Tuesday.

He said: “This was the last spell of the monsoon rains. The monsoon will start retreating from September 30 onwards.” This monsoon has been the wettest since 2010.

Meanwhile, it has been raining since Saturday late night.  

The maximum temperature was recorded at 25.7 degree Celsius, which was 8 degrees below the ‘normal’.

There is a possibility of light rain on Monday. Thereafter, the weather will start improving. From Tuesday onwards, there will be dry weather, said Surender Paul, Director, IMD Chandigarh.
