Chandigarh airport chaos: Srinagar, Goa flights delayed due to fog
Visibility issues cause disruptions at the airport; plane from Hyderabad diverted to Jaipur
Flight operations were hampered severely due to fog, poor visibility, and operational reasons at Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport Chandigarh this morning.
With fog and visibility issues, the flight schedule at the Chandigarh airport was wrecked today with most of the arrivals and departures late by four-five hours.
The 9:50 am flight to Goa (6E6056) is scheduled to depart at 1:30 pm. The Srinagar flight arrival at 12:55 pm has been delayed and the departure to the same destination scheduled at 2:10 pm has been rescheduled at 6:55 pm today. The scheduled 12:35 departure to Delhi (6E2195) is slated for 2:50 pm.
The arrival of international flight from Abu Dhabi (6E1417) is scheduled for 1:40 pm.
The first flight to depart from here took off at 11:49 am to Lucknow (6E146). Delhi (6E2315) and Mumbai (6E5261) flight departures followed soon at 11:57 am and 12:04 noon, respectively. Till then, it was all quiet at the Chandigarh airport since morning.
The IndiGo flight from Hyderabad to Chandigarh scheduled to land here at 12:05 pm was diverted to Jaipur in the afternoon.
The departures to Delhi (6E6742) and Jaipur (6E7719) scheduled at 7:10 am and 7:35 am have to be cancelled.
The first flight to arrive here was from Mumbai, scheduled at 8:20 am, touched down at 11:55 am. The early morning arrivals from Delhi (6E6741), Pune (6E242), Jaipur (6E7742) and Bengaluru (6E6633) were cancelled.
