Chandigarh allows loudspeaker use till midnight on special days

The UT Administration has allowed use of loudspeakers during night hours on 15 days of the year. According to a notification issued by the UT Environment Department, the use of loudspeakers or public address systems will be allowed between 10 pm and 12 midnight.

The days are Parkash Purb of Guru Gobind Singh, as announced by the Punjab Government; Republic Day, Mahashivratri on February 15, Ram Navami on March 26, Vaisakhi on April 14, Id-ul-Zuha on May 27, Independence Day, Janmashtami on September 4, Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary on October 2, Maharaj Agarsain Jayanti on October 11, Maharishi Valmiki’s birthday on October 26, Diwali on November 8, Christmas on December 25 and New Year's Eve on December 31 this year.
