Chandigarh lads trail by 296 runs
After being put to follow-on, the Chandigarh lads posted 55/3 in their second innings at the draw of the stumps, still trailing by 296 runs against Karnataka’s mammoth total of 634, in the Col CK Nayudu Trophy match at Alur Cricket Stadium, Bengaluru.
Resuming their first innings from overnight 98/3, the local team posted 283. Unbeaten Devang Kaushik was the first wicket to fall after being caught by Faizan Khan off Mohsin Khan for 21. Skipper Aarush Bhandari posted 63 off 192 balls, with three boundaries and three sixes. He played a 76-run stand with Nikhil (31 off 89 balls, with three boundaries) as the side recovered.
However, Mohsin accounted both batters to put Chandigarh down to 215/6. Adhiraj, thereafter, scored 64 off 77 balls, with five boundaries and five sixes, but failed to get support from the other end. Mohsin claimed Ivraj Ranauta (0), Aryan Duggal (6) and Jskirat Singh Mehra (10) to completed his eight-wicket haul for 114.
After being forced to follow-on, Chandigarh top order again flattered, as opener Dushyant was back to the pavilion without opening his account, while Dipender Kush (20) was claimed by Manvanth Kumar. Kaushik again fell prey to Mohsin for nine. Raghav Verma (17) and skipper Bhandari (9) closed the day unbeaten for Chandigarh.
