Chandigarh, February 27

The BJP today asked Mayor Kuldeep Kumar Dhalor why he was pretending to officially take the charge when there was no formal swearing-in or programme to take the charge of the post.

“If he has no time to take charge, then how is he participating in the Rose Festival and other programmes of the city as mayor? How is he giving speeches as mayor?” Sanjeev Kumar Rana, City BJP Secretary and spokesperson, said in a statement.

“People of the city can understand very well that the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress have nothing to do with the city. No, they are only concerned with their own interests and positions. They can go to any extent to humiliate the BJP,” he said.

“Earlier, these people used to say the BJP does not want to lose the mayor’s election that is why they are postponing the poll. Now, election of senior deputy mayor and deputy mayor are being deliberately delayed by them,” he said.
