With a sharp decline in the number of fresh Covid-19 cases, the UT Administration has decided to increase the number of guests for a social gathering.

With a sharp decline in the number of fresh Covid-19 cases, the UT Administration has decided to increase the number of guests for a social gathering.

According to an order issued by UT Adviser Dharam Pal, the number of guests for social gatherings such as weddings, commercial events, exhibition stalls, amusement rides or shows, etc, are increased from 200 to 300 or 50 per cent capacity of banquet halls or hotels, whichever is less, with the condition that all adult guests and staff of the hotels or banquet halls must have received at least one dose of the Covid vaccine or have negative RT-PCR report of last 72 hours.

The Adviser stated that the order would come into force with immediate effect and would be applicable until further orders.

However, any breach of the order will invite action under Sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, and Section 188 of the IPC.
