Chandigarh Police file 'untraced' report against terrorist Gurpatwant Pannu in 4-year-old case

The police had registered the case four years ago against Pannu under Section 506 of IPC who threatened to kill some judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Supreme Court through a suicide bomber

The Chandigarh Police have filed an “untraced” report in a case registered against terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, Khalistani terrorist and head of the banned separatist organisation Sikhs for Justice, (SFJ) for threatening to kill judges through suicide bomber.

The police had registered the case four years ago against Pannu under Section 506 of IPC who threatened to kill some judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Supreme Court through a suicide bomber.

An FIR was filed in this case in 2022 at the Sector 3 police station in Chandigarh but the police were unable to locate Pannu.

After investigation of over four years, the police filed an untraced report with the Chandigarh District Court which has now been accepted by the court.

In the order, the court said that the  present FIR was registered on the complaint of Inspector Sukhdweep Singh, SHO, Sector 3 Police Station, Chandigarh, with the allegations that a post was found on social media in which there was a threat given by Gurpatwant Singh Pannu and Qurbani Jatha

to a judge of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana and a judge of Supreme Court of India by suicide bomber representatives of Sikhs for Justice.

On the basis of this complaint, an FIR was registered and investigation was carried out. As per the status report, a detailed investigation was done and places mentioned in the alleged post were also searched, but no clue came to light and even after sincere efforts, the accused or persons linked to the accused could not be traced.

Keeping in view this report, ‘untraced’ report is accepted. Concerned Investigating

Officer/SHO is hereby directed to proceed further with the investigation, if, any fresh evidence is received on record.

Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) is a banned organization. Many cases have been registered against Pannu in India. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) also filed cases against him and seized his properties in Chandigarh and Punjab.
