Chandigarh Police HQ shut to carry out sanitisation

Chandigarh, July 6

The Chandigarh Police Headquarters in Sector 9 here was shut today for two days to carry out sanitisation after employees of the UT Education Department tested positive for Covid-19.

The Education Department is situated in the Additional Deluxe Building, which is adjacent to the Police Headquarters.

The SP (Headquarters), Manoj Kumar Meena, said since the employees of the Police Department and the Education Department share the same canteen, which is located in the Police Headquarters, there was a need to sanitise the building as a precautionary measure.

“The building has been closed for sanitisation. It will open on Wednesday,” he said.

Staff of the Police Headquarters had been asked to work from home. However, the police control room would work normally.

“The control room will function normally. In case there is some emergent need, then other staff will also work from their office in the Police Headquarters,” he said. — TNS
