The iconic Jagat Cinema, now TDI Mall Jagat, in Sector 17 has been served a notice of Rs 58 lakh by the Municipal Corporation.

“Two cheques have been cashed and other post-dated cheques, too, have been deposited by them,” said an official of the property tax wing of the Municipal Corporation.

The James Hotel, a five star property in Sector 17, has been served a notice of Rs 92.85 lakh. Officials said the notices were for property tax arrears since 2004. The MChas collected Rs 40cr till September this year on account of property tax. — TNS
